How does it work?
Unlike conventional software that runs a program on your computer, Browserwash is undetectable and cannot be tampered with by your children or compromised with a virus. Why is it different?
Browserwash uses whats called recursive DNS to stop the content you don't want before its delivered. DNS is the basic protocol that allows any browser to find out where a page is located on the web. Every page has a home in a number sequence like this 123.456.78.910 called an IP address. Its like a telephone number telling your browser where to go to look for a page. A DNS server goes and looks up that number of the URL entered in the browser and then will return the page. These 'recursive' DNS servers however look up a page and if it is listed as bad content won't deliver the address and therefore cannot be displayed by your browser, period!
